Cabo San Lucas Real Estate Listings
How to Buy or Sell a Home Using Cabo San Lucas Real Estate Listings
Few things in life are as satisfying as buying a home, a place where you and those closest to you can make magical memories together while also enjoying a full measure of safety and security. Buying a secondary or full-time residence in a tropical paradise like Los Cabos only adds to this feeling of intense satisfaction, since in addition to the creature comforts of home you can also expect breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean or Sea of Cortés…and in a few spectacular cases both simultaneously! But there are a few things you need to know first, whether you’re buying for the first time, or selling an existing property in order to buy a bigger place with even better views! With that in mind, here is a basic guide to using Cabo San Lucas real estate listings to help you get the best possible deal when buying or selling a home in the area.
How to Buy a Home Using Cabo San Lucas Real Estate Listings
The first thing you should know, if you haven’t bought property before–or at least lately–is that technology has completely changed the game when it comes to real estate listings in Cabo San Lucas and beyond.
It’s now possible to computer mouse click on any part of the Los Cabos region, and find listings for every house, condo or villa for sale. Have you always dreamed of owning a beach house with Land’s End views? Click on the tourist corridor coast between Punta Ballena and Cabo San Lucas, then filter the listings according to your own preferred specs: price, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, etc. Prefer a condo near your favorite surf beach? Find the beach on the map, click it and see what comes up.
It truly is an amazing way to get an overview of what’s available, and each listing comes complete with a collection of detailed information about the property, from acreage and architectural style to when the house was built and photos showing what the sunset views look like from the swimming pool.
Don’t believe us? Click here and see for yourself.
But of course no one buys something as important as a house based on what it looks like in Cabo San Lucas real estate listings, or even how enticing the asking price is. You need to see the property for yourself, and you need to feel comfortable with the neighborhood, taking into consideration things like shopping and dining…and if you have children, things like pediatricians and bilingual schools. In short, you need a knowledgeable local ally you can trust.

Cabo San Lucas Real Estate Market
Right Place, Right Time – How to Take Advantage of a Booming Cabo San Lucas Real Estate Market
Almost everyone has had this experience at least once: the feeling of discovering a rare and beautiful tropical paradise, then wishing they had found it years before. “Before all the best beach and ocean view properties were gone; before everything was overpriced.”
Only a lucky few ever discover exactly the right place at exactly the right time.
That’s the opportunity, however, that’s currently “knocking” in Cabo San Lucas, which along with sister city San José del Cabo is part of the picturesque Los Cabos municipality that hugs the southernmost rim of the Baja California peninsula.
Blessed with year-round sunshine and boundless coastal vistas, this place–colloquially known as “Cabo”–is currently in the midst of an ongoing evolution: from sleepy fishing village to popular vacation destination to sought-after spot for secondary or year-round residences.
The final stage of this flowering is still in its early stages, and as a consequence, the Cabo San Lucas real estate market is booming, offering incredible opportunities for those who’ve happened upon their tropical paradise at precisely the right moment.
Don’t believe us?
Here are three reasons the Cabo San Lucas real estate market has never been hotter than it is right now…
An Impressive Range of Properties in a Staggering Diversity of Breathtaking Locales
What’s the first rule of real estate? Location, location, location.
Nestled between mountains, desert, beach and two major bodies of water–the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortés–Los Cabos as a region enjoys some of the most profoundly singular and profoundly beautiful settings on earth.
These settings may share some scenic commonalities, but they are as wide-ranging in their unique vistas as the luxurious properties that are being built to take advantage of them.
Imagine a luxury villa built into a sheer cliffside above crashing Pacific Ocean waves. Or a beachfront condo that looks out over the Sea of Cortes towards the granite monuments at Land’s End? Or a ranch home set in rolling mountain foothills amid organic farm-to-table restaurants? Or a four-bedroom family home overlooking both azure waters and the fairways of a golf course designed by a legendary champion?
The Cabo San Lucas real estate market offers enough diversity in its properties and settings to appeal to virtually every taste…and to virtually every budget.
An Unrivaled Combination of Pristine Beauty and World-Class Activities & Amenities
Once upon a time, the attractions in Cabo San Lucas were limited to beautiful beaches and abundant big-game sportfishing. Nowadays, homeowners can sit down to sumptuous food and wine pairing dinners at restaurants helmed by celebrity chefs, shop at brand-name boutiques like Cartier or Fendi, or indulge themselves with pampering treatments at expansive and exhaustively-outfitted resort spas.
The wonder is not that Los Cabos boasts the sort of upscale amenities associated with world cities like New York or Paris, but that it also offers privacy, seclusion, pristine settings, and world-class conditions for a wide range of outdoor activities. Seasonal and year-round residents have convenient access to gorgeous hiking and biking trails; famed surf breaks; over a dozen championship level golf courses and counting; amazing offshore kayaking and stand up paddle boarding; windsports meccas for kiteboarding and windsurfing; off-road race courses; and some of the most jaw-dropping dive sites on earth, including the living coral reef at Cabo Pulmo.
It’s this unrivaled combination of sophisticated upscale pleasures and healthy lifestyle attractions that are helping to drive current interest in the “Cabo San Lucas real estate market”, even apart from the obvious charms of the properties themselves.
Extraordinary Values & The Best Kind of Privacy
What’s better than a beachfront home or stunning ocean views from your scenically vantaged villa or penthouse condo? The former, but at list prices much lower than those for similarly spectacular properties in the U.S. or Canada. Add in much lower property taxes and a much lower cost of living, and that, in a nutshell, is the appeal of the real estate market in Cabo San Lucas.
But besides the extraordinary value and investment potential, there’s something else that makes Los Cabos so attractive. It offers the very best kind of privacy.
What exactly does that mean? It means you’re about 1000 miles from the U.S. border and all the stresses you’re trying to escape, but you still have easy access to an international airport in San José del Cabo–as well an airport for domestic carriers and private jets in Cabo San Lucas–if you’d like to visit friends or family, or invite them down to see your new dream home.
See what we mean?
It also means now might be the right time to take a serious interest in the Cabo San Lucas real estate market.
Whether you are seeking condos, villas or Oceanfront Living, it is absolutely essential that you choose the right ally to help you navigate the entire process, from site visits to closing costs.
That’s where Windermere comes in. Windermere is one of the most respected names in North American real estate, with over 300 offices and 6,000 agents in the Western U.S. and México. Medical Care in Los Cabos
Health Wave – The Growth of High-Quality Medical Care in Los Cabos
(Image provided by Pedregal.com)
México has long been a top destination for medical tourism, thanks to both a proximity to the U.S. and high-quality health care available at 40 to 65% less on average than its northern neighbor. The country also boasts world-class travel destinations like Los Cabos, which allow visitors to enjoy a memorable vacation around the scheduled dates for their chosen treatments or surgeries.
Los Cabos isn’t just a tropical travel destination, however, but increasingly a primary or seasonal home for U.S. and Canadian citizens, with population numbers for expatriates estimated at 15,000 and rising (out of a total municipal population of approximately 300,000). Commensurate with this burgeoning population growth–from the U.S., Canada and elsewhere–is an exponential growth of high-quality health care and state-of-the-art medical centers.
The newest of these modern, technologically sophisticated medical centers is Hospiten, which premiered in October 2018 just outside Cabo San Lucas, near one of the municipality’s most oft-visited shopping centers (Plaza San Lucas, home to Walmart). If the name is recognizable, that’s because Hospiten is affiliated with the international hospital group of the same name, which has a network of locations that includes México, Spain, Jamaica, Panama and the Dominican Rebublic.
(Image provided by Hospital H)
Hospiten Los Cabos offers patients a full-range of services, from emergency care and surgical suites to medical laboratories and departments specializing in anesthesiology, cardiology, general surgery, oral surgery, orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery, dermatology, internal medicine, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and psychology, among others.
Hospiten isn’t the only state-of-the-art medical facility locally. There’s also Hospital H+, which opened in 2016 in the tourist corridor that connects the cape cities, near San José del Cabo. Like Hospiten, H+ offers cutting-edge equipment and an excellent roster of on-call physicians, as well as 24-hour triage and intensive care, surgical areas and specialty clinics, laboratories and blood banks, radiology and ultrasound imaging, and private rooms for extended patient stays.
Hospiten and H+ may lead the local pack, but they’re hardly the only sources for high-quality care in the area. The U.S. Consulate regularly updates a list of fully-accredited hospitals and medical care facilities in Los Cabos, a list that at present includes the two already touted, as well as the AMC and BlueNet Hospitals, the General Hospitals in both Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, the Red Cross (Cruz Roja in Spanish) ambulance and rescue services, plus a few clinics and sanitariums.
This U.S. Consulate list is a helpful guide, and points to the region’s abundance of quality health care. But the list is far from comprehensive, and it doesn’t even begin to address the plethora of great dental and cosmetic surgery clinics, which have traditionally been among the most popular medical services for tourists and short-term visitors to the area.
Simply put: Los Cabos has medical care that’s equivalent in quality to that found in the U.S., but of course at only a fraction of the cost. This affordability factor is at the heart of México’s medical tourism sector, which accounts for some five billion dollars annually, but it’s also an attractive lifestyle convenience for U.S. and Canadian residents of the cape cities. Add it to year-round sunshine, beachfront real estate, championship level golf courses and pampering spas, and you’ll understand why both the population and health care industries of Los Cabos are growing so fast.

Oceanfront Living in Elías Calles
A Name and a Place You Should Know – The Underrated Value of Oceanfront Living in Elías Calles
The late Plutarco Elías Calles is now known primarily for two things: one of which is mostly negative, the other overwhelmingly positive. He was President during one of the most tumultuous periods in modern Mexican history–just after the Mexican Revolution in the 1920s–at which time he led an infamous crackdown on the Catholic Church that led to the so-called Cristero Rebellion (In Spanish, La Cristiada). That’s the negative. The positive? Well, his name just happens to have been given to one of the world’s most picturesque places.
What’s that? You’ve never heard of Elías Calles, México? Not surprising, really, given that it’s a small community with scarcely more than 100 inhabitants.
But here are three reasons you definitely should get to know Elias Calles, and strongly consider buying property there.
Location, Location, Location
You may not have heard of Elías Calles, but chances are you’ve heard of Los Cabos, the world-class tourist destination on the southern rim of the Baja California peninsula that’s home to (and named for) cape cities Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. Yes, that place, the tropical paradise with the gorgeous beaches, championship level golf courses, celebrated chefs and nightlife, and some 350 days of sunshine a year on average.
Well, Elías Calles is located on the Pacific Coast of Baja California Sur, about halfway between Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos, a surf-friendly artists’ colony that just happens to be a major tourist destination in its own right, and was the first place on the peninsula to be officially designated as a pueblo mágico (literally, “magical town”).
Elías Calles is thus conveniently close to two popular tourist destinations. What that means is easy access to all the attractions of both Los Cabos and Todos Santos–from shopping and fine dining to surfing, fishing, golf, spas and frequent cultural events–but also peace, quiet and all the other joys of small-town living.
Plus, of course, breathtaking, horizon-stretching views of the boundless Pacific.
Incredible Value
Few three-word assemblages engender more excitement than “affordable beachfront property.” Even in Los Cabos, beachfront land and homes list for significantly less than similarly situated coastal properties in the U.S. and Canada, and come with the added benefits of significantly lower property taxes and a significantly lower cost of living.
In tiny, little-known Elías Calles, the values are off the charts.
Not only is beachfront property there a virtual bargain, even compared to Los Cabos, it’s also an excellent long-term investment, sure to benefit from the continued growth of the tourist destinations to its north and south.
And as to what surrounds it on the west side, let’s just say no one is making any more oceanfront property, and leave it at that.

Window of Availability
We’ve characterized beachfront land and homes in Elías Calles as certified bargains, magnificently situated properties available at extremely value-oriented prices. But we’ve also said it is a tiny community, with scarcely 100 residents.
Do we really need to connect all the dots for you?
Yes, there are several great property listings at present for Elías Calles, but the window of availability is, by nature, very limited.
Just as no one is making any more beachfront property…Elías Calles can only get so much bigger, and for that matter, why would anyone want it to? Small-town atmosphere and an oceanfront setting are its two major charms.
So learn the name, learn it well, and by all means learn it fast!
Whether you are seeking condos, villas or Oceanfront Living in Elias Calles, it is absolutely essential that you choose the right ally to help you navigate the entire process, from site visits to closing costs.

Cabo San Lucas Beach Homes for Sale
Where Dream Vision and Dream Value Meet – Cabo San Lucas Beach Homes for Sale
Everyone has a dream purchase they are chasing, a signifier of success that will also serve as a lifestyle benchmark…call it the ultimate upgrade in both comfort and status. For some it is a luxury yacht or private jet, for others a beachfront home in a sun-splashed tropical paradise. The latter is undoubtedly the best buy from an investment standpoint, and, if your sun-splashed tropical paradise of choice happens to be Cabo San Lucas, it may also be the most affordable, both initially and in terms of long-term maintenance. Call it the ultimate marriage of dream vision and dream value, and consider this your basic guide to Cabo San Lucas beach homes for sale.
Why Cabo San Lucas Beach Homes for Sale Are a Dream Vision
Nowhere else on earth do mountains, desert, beach and ocean exist so closely and with such striking contrast. Nowhere else on earth do two major bodies of water meet in such spectacular fashion.
Los Cabos, the municipality which hugs the southernmost rim of the Baja California peninsula, is truly a place unlike any other, from its breathtaking beachfront locales to its profusion of upscale lifestyle amenities. Nowhere is this uniqueness more evident than in Cabo San Lucas, where the Sea of Cortés and Pacific Ocean are separated by a half-mile promontory comprised of 80-million-year-old granite monuments and gorgeous golden sand beaches.
In Spanish, this promontory is called Finisterra. In English, Land’s End. Truth be told, however, it’s really more of a beginning than an end.
For decades, this is where A-list celebrities have come on holiday, where Americans and Canadians have come to winter or retire, and where the successful in all walks of life have come to seek the ultimate new beginning: Cabo San Lucas beach homes for sale.
Why not? In addition to the picturesque surroundings and ideal tropical climate–how does 350 days of sunshine annually sound?–Cabo San Lucas and sister city San José del Cabo also offer a wealth of upscale lifestyle amenities, from celebrity chefs and pampering spas to world-class sportfishing and a whopping dozen plus championship level golf courses from legendary names like Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Greg Norman and Fred Couples.
It’s not as though you have to suffer for your beachfront castle with its horizon-stretching moat.
Why Cabo San Lucas Beach Homes for Sale Are a Dream Reality
Here are a few of the most incredible facts about “Cabo San Lucas beach homes for sale”: they typically list at a fraction of the price of similarly situated properties in the U.S. and Canada; property taxes, too, are a fraction of those mandated by México’s North American neighbors; the cost of living in general is much lower; and homeowners across Los Cabos have easy access to international airports and travel (translation: stress-free visits to and from family, friends and business partners).
That’s what we mean by a dream vision also being a dream reality…and we haven’t even gotten to the really good part yet.
Beachfront real estate in Los Cabos is one of the best investments anyone can ever make. Real estate in general is a safe and popular investment for a number of reasons: real estate invariably appreciates over time, it builds equity for reinvestment, it’s a hedge against inflation, and so on and so on.
But beachfront real estate, in particular, is also an investment in your own future happiness. Think about it…this is what you’ve worked for and dreamed about for years, a place where the sun always shines, where the palm trees sway softly in the breeze, and where you and your significant other can walk hand-in-hand, barefoot in the sand, comfortable by any definition.
That may sound a bit like retirement, and for many it is, but keep this in mind as well: there’s no rule that says you can’t enjoy your beach home in Cabo San Lucas a few months each year, as a secondary residence. Or that you can’t simply maintain it as an investment. The beaches, palm trees and ocean breezes will always be there, ready whenever you are.
The Windermere Advantage
Whether you are seeking condos, villas or beach homes for sale in Cabo San Lucas, it is absolutely essential that you choose the right ally to help you navigate the entire process, from site visits to closing costs.

Valentine’s Day Dinners in Los Cabos
A Perfect Romance – Valentine’s Day Dinners in Los Cabos
Few places on the planet are more synonymous with romance than Los Cabos. Perhaps Paris, but let’s be honest: How many palm trees are there in Paris?
Cape cities Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo have all the sun-kissed romantic attributes anyone could ask for, from swaying palm trees and horizon-stretching ocean vistas to golden sand beaches perfect for hand-holding perambulations or side-by-side horseback rides…plus all the luxurious over-the-top amenities you would expect from a major metropolitan area.
When it comes to the most romantic day of them all, however, what Los Cabos does best are dinners. Tables for two, either in the sand or on a nearby terrazzo, with candlelight, mood music, multi-course pairing menus, and of course some of the most spectacular views you’ve ever seen in your life.
With that in mind, here are the three most romantic Valentine’s Day dinners in Los Cabos for 2019.
Sunset MonaLisa
There’s a very good reason this place employs an onsite wedding coordinator, and hosts over 100 destination nuptials per year. The views are so breathtaking as to defy description, but what else would you expect from a place located at Sunset Point?
Just how magical is it? Imagine looking out across a cerulean blue swath of Sea of Cortes towards a half-mile Land’s End promontory comprised of ancient granite monuments and sculpted beaches as the sun explodes in a fiery red ball and descends beyond the distant horizon. Trust us: Someone just proposed reading this.
The food is nearly equal to the majestic views, particularly on Valentine’s Day, when the fine dining restaurant offers sunset seatings for a six-course prix-fixe menu, with accompanying ballads from romantic tenors and an acclaimed violinist. If you’re not in the mood for a large meal, pair oysters and Champagne on the adjoining Taittinger Terrace.
One&Only Palmilla
A benchmark resort in Los Cabos for over 50 years, Palmilla employs no less than five dozen gardeners to keep its paradise-like grounds manicured to perfection. Consider that a sign that everything here is of the highest possible quality.
Celebrated French Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten hosts the resort’s most elegant Valentine’s Day feast, a four-course epicurean delight that pairs the upscale steakhouse fare of SEARED with Grand Cru Classé wines and vintage Champagne.
Like the wines, the muy romántico moonlit views of the Sea of Cortés are also in a class by themselves.
El Farallón
As you may have noticed by now, stunning views are as much a part of the romantic dining experience in Los Cabos as culinary mastery and sommelier-aided wine pairings. El Farallón, the signature restaurant at the five-star Resort at Pedregal, takes a backseat to no one in this regard.
Set on the edge of a cliff above crashing Pacific Ocean waves, with magnificent views of Land’s End, this place drips romance. It doesn’t hurt a bit, of course, that Executive Chef Gustavo Pinet and his staff serve up the finest market style seafood in Cabo San Lucas, and that like Sunset MonaLisa, El Farallón features its own dedicated Champagne Lounge.
Reservations are a must for El Farallón, as they are for SEARED and Sunset MonaLisa.
What? You thought you were the first one to think of spending Valentine’s Day in paradise?
Enjoy your Valentine´s Day dinner in Cabo San Lucas…

Cabo San Lucas Homes for Sale
Views Unlike Any Other – An Unmatched and Unprecedented Collection of Cabo San Lucas Homes for Sale
Imagine a place where you can look out your windows or over the edge of your infinity pool and see vast panoramas of ocean blue, a place where it’s not uncommon to spy leaping dolphins and breaching humpback whales, where golf courses parallel sheer cliffs, restaurants offer barefoot fine dining in the sand, and the sun shines almost every day. It’s a vision so surreal and dreamlike as to be magical, but such views are nonetheless shared by many Cabo San Lucas homes for sale.
Would you be interested in a home like this?
Of course you would, because the scene just described is nothing less than a sun-kissed tropical paradise.
But you’d still want to know more, including details about price and availability. Let’s start with the latter…
There Are More Cabo San Lucas Homes for Sale Than Ever Before
Cabo San Lucas, the southernmost point of the nearly 800-mile-long Baja California peninsula, has long been famed for its beaches, its big-game sportfishing, its boisterous nightlife, and its half-mile promontory–dubbed Land’s End–that features stunning naturally formed landmarks like Lover’s Beach and El Arco (an 80-million-year-old granite monument eroded by time into the shape of a magnificent arch).
This remarkable community is, along with cape sister city San José del Cabo, part of the larger Los Cabos (In English, The Capes) municipality, which over the past few years has experienced the largest building and development boom in its history. This boom has produced a host of five-star resorts from benchmark luxury brands like Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons, plus an ever-growing number of spectacular upscale residential communities, whose sprawling seaside estates boast amenities that range from gated security and boutique markets to sumptuously appointed beach clubs and championship level golf courses designed by legendary players.
It’s an exciting time to be in Los Cabos, and in Cabo San Lucas specifically, because what this far-from-over building boom really means is that there have never been more scenically situated and elegantly furnished ocean-view Cabo San Lucas homes for sale than there are right now. Even better…
The Price is Right, Particularly When Compared to the U.S. and Canadian Housing Markets
The most mind-numbing thing about some of the luxurious coastal “Cabo San Lucas homes for sale” is that their list prices are so much lower than properties of comparable size and splendor in the U.S. and Canada.
How is such a thing possible? For many of the same reasons that the cost of living is so much lower in México than it is relative to its North American neighbors, and that property taxes in Los Cabos are significantly lower than those of all 5o U.S. states, as well as popular Canadian cities like Vancouver and Toronto.
Economy, exchange rates, and a host of other factors…all of which contribute to, and make possible, some truly once-in-a-lifetime investment opportunities.
It’s Easy to Find Homes for Sale in Cabo San Lucas That Suit Your Lifestyle
Investment opportunities? How about lifestyle opportunities. One of the most underrated aspects of Cabo San Lucas is its variety, not only in terms of breathtaking vantages and eye-catching land and seascapes–from beach, desert and mountains to both the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez–but also in terms of lifestyle and amenities.
Do you love fishing? Well, Cabo San Lucas just happens to be one of the meccas of the sportfishing universe. Not only is it the site of the world’s richest fishing tournament–Bisbee’s Black & Blue–but it’s been renowned for over half-a-century for its year-round abundance of marlin, tuna, and many other species. More to the point, developments like Puerto Los Cabos boast their own onsite marinas, with slips available to home owners.
How about golf? Los Cabos is home to over a dozen championship level layouts, including three currently ranked among the 100 best in the world. New Pacific Coast residential communities in Cabo San Lucas like Diamante, Quivira and Rancho San Lucas each have their own signature courses for home owners to enjoy, with designs by household names like Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman, respectively.
Love kayaking? Surfing? Paddle boarding? Snorkeling and diving? Los Cabos has world-class conditions for all of the above, with newly minted residential communities nearby.
Shopping and dining? Luxury Avenue isn’t the only shopping center in Cabo San Lucas to feature luxury goods from brand names like Cartier and Fendi. And Enrique Olvera, Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Nobu Matsuhisa aren’t only famous chefs who’ve chosen to bring their talents and vision to the thriving Los Cabos culinary scene.
Add it all up and majestic ocean views are only one of many reasons to consider the incredible collection of Cabo San Lucas homes for sale in 2019.

Bringing Cats and Dogs to Los Cabos
Everything You Need to Know About Bringing Cats and Dogs to Los Cabos
Your pet is going to love Los Cabos for many of the same reasons you do: year-round sunshine and tropical breezes; gorgeous beach, desert and mountain terrains; and plenty of water–from infinity pools to the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortés–to splash around in.
But first you have to get them here.
Whether you’re bringing pets along to Los Cabos on a family vacation, or as part of a seasonal or permanent move, the requirements for their entry into México are much the same.
Luckily, these pre-conditions aren’t terribly difficult to fulfill. But they are very specific, so it’s important to be correct in all details.
The Right Paperwork
Both cats and dogs are covered by the standard International Health Certificate, APHIS Form 7001. APHIS stands for Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, and is an agency under the jurisdiction of the USDA, or United States Department of Agriculture. This form, an example of which you’ll find included here, must be filled out without abbreviations using a computer or word processor (handwritten forms will be rejected), and signed in ink by a USDA accredited veterinarian and an endorsing APHIS Veterinary Medical Officer, who will apply the necessary APHIS embossed seal. APHIS maintains endorsement offices in most U.S. states, but if this option is not convenient, México also accepts certificates from USDA accredited vets on their own letterhead (see example). Whichever health certificate option you choose, it must be signed and dated within 1o days of your arrival in México.
Open and Download Health Certificate PDF and Form 7001 here:
Health Certificate
APHIS Form 7001
The Right Shots
You’ll need your vet to provide proof of vaccines against rabies and distemper, administered at least 15 days before arrival in México. You should also have a detailed description of the pets, and a statement that the pets in question are healthy and fit to travel, and have been dewormed internally and externally within the last six months. All of this information may be included by your vet on the health certificate, but if not, ask him or her for additional documentation. Make photocopies of everything, just to be on the safe side.

Your dog would almost certainly prefer to come by car, ensuring at least 1,ooo miles of hanging his or her head out the window. But regardless of how you bring your pets into México (air, land or sea), each individual is allowed up to two cats or dogs (four per couple).
Airlines vary in their requirements for purpose-built crates and kennels, but no cardboard or make-shift containers are acceptable. If you are flying with pets, you should make sure to confirm the correct requirements beforehand, and double check that the crate or kennel is labeled properly. If you have a large dog (over 100 lbs.), he or she may have to fly separately in a cargo plane. There may be extra costs or baggage fees associated with transporting pets, so ask about this when confirming details with your airline of choice.
Once you arrive at your point of entry into México, look for a kiosk with the acronym SAGARPA/SENSAICA. This is where you present your health certificate and other documentation, and have your pets inspected. They should be in a crate, kennel or other clean pet transporter for inspection, with no bed or chew toys inside. Dry food and water are allowed in the transporter.
And that’s it…that’s all that stands between you and your pets and a new life in a sun-kissed tropical paradise.
See, we told you it wasn’t that difficult… If this article was helpful, please consider sharing, thanks!

Los Cabos Lifestyle Experience
Always Sunny, Never Dull – New Year Adds New Facets to the Los Cabos Lifestyle Experience
Los Cabos is like a diamond in the sense that not only does it boast many brilliant facets–from stark deserts and rugged interior mountains to the dramatic confluence of the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez–but whichever angle you view it from, something always sparkles.
Each new month, for example, brings fresh new events and activities that add luster to the Los Cabos lifestyle experience. Here are three that stand out for January.
Golfing Glories That Never End

It’s hard to overstate how impressive Los Cabos’ portfolio of destination golf courses really is, with three courses ranked among the 100 Best in the World, and well over a dozen championship-level layouts from legendary names like Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Greg Norman, Davis Love III and Tom Weiskopf.
Now add 1992 Masters Champion Fred Couples to that list. Couples collaborated with Todd Eckenrode of Origins Golf Design on the newly opened Twin Dolphin Golf Club, an 18-hole course that boasts magnificent vantages and views of scenic Santa Maria Bay and the luxurious new Maravilla residential community.
Couples’ Twin Dolphin isn’t the only newsworthy course this January. The Cabo San Lucas Country Club, the only local track to feature on-course views of The Arch and other iconic rock formations at Land’s End, is showcasing an all-new look after a major renovation project spearheaded by acclaimed Mexican course architect Agustin Piza.
Cabo del Sol, home to Jack Nicklaus’ breathtaking Ocean Course and the Tom Weiskopf crafted Desert Course, is also making news as it hosts the 11th annual Los Cabos Pro-Am tournament on Jan. 14 – 18.
Where “Magic” Happens
(Photo Credit: Tropic of Cancer Series)
It’s no coincidence that Todos Santos–a Pacific Coast community about one hour by car from Cabo San Lucas–was the first place on the Baja California peninsula to be named a pueblo mágico, or “magical town.” This government designation is given only to places of magnificent natural beauty, or that possess great historical or cultural significance.
Todos Santos qualifies on all three counts. Once a thriving sugar capital, and the richest town in Baja California for much of the 19th century, Todos Santos was reborn in the 1980s as an artists’ colony, beloved by expatriate painters for the unique quality of its light.
The town’s artistic talents are shown off at the beginning of each new calendar year, when in quick succession it hosts festivals celebrating music, literature, art and film. First up in 2019 is the Tropic of Cancer Concert Series, slated for Jan. 10 – 20.
Lords & Ladies of the Wind

Every winter between the months of December and March, two important events occur locally: thousands of whales migrate from their summer arctic feeding grounds to their winter breeding grounds in coves and inlets around Baja California Sur; and strong El Norte winds blow down the Sea of Cortez, turning the Los Cabos municipality’s picturesque and lightly developed East Cape into a windsports paradise.
Everybody knows about the whales. Few outside the community of dedicated windsurfers and kiteboarders know about the incredibly favorable wind conditions. For years, the small East Cape community of Los Barriles hosted a famed worldwide competition known as The Lord of the Wind each January. Sadly, no more Lords and Ladies of the Wind shall be crowned, at least in Los Barriles. Farther up the coast, however, in another windsports mecca called La Ventana, the competition is still as fierce as the offshore breezes. This year’s highly anticipated La Ventana Classic is scheduled to take place Jan. 16 – 20.
